I do love how it shows how Birgitte forges the collation and slaps down Labour and says "You guys fucked up and the voters punished you, now we'll do things my way for a bit." And I like it because American media seems to focus so much on the race/election but the governing is where things get done and it's the HARD part.
And I still think that this has biblical parallels to when the devil took Jesus and showed him the countries of the world. Birgitte takes the devil's bargain but she has had to sacrifice so much for that power - not just on a personal level but she's had to compromise her ideals. It's like that conversation she has with Amir before he leaves Parliament. Ugh. <3 <3 <3
