I've been slightly obsessed with her line about her father telling her she had stronger shoulders than Atlas for a long time. (Who tell their six-year-old that?!) And with the events of Nemesis Games/Season 5, she's basically holding Earth together with her fingertips. And then I thought, I think I have a song with something Atlas and then THE SONG WORKED SO FUCKING WELL. Oh, Chrisjen.

This is so awesome - I just finished S5 and this recontextualized it so beautifully from Avasarala's point of view. This really showed me something I hadn't seen before, which I love to see in vids!

I really struggled with season 5 at points. Most of it is how mad I get at Marco because he not only killed millions (probably billions) of Earthers, by hitting Earth that catastrophically, has damaged the agricultural center of the known universe setting up a famine that not only will kill Earthers but will have Belters starve to death. The attack is brilliant in a military tactical sense but incredibly dumb in the survival of humanity sense. And it's slightly dumb on my part because of course we're going to spend time with the show's characters, but it's the one event in this universe where I just want to shake people and yell HOW ARE YOU GOING TO FEED EVERYONE?!?!

But anyway, this season for Chrisjen is her seeing her worst nightmares coming true and deep tremendous loss, but also her growth, because first season Chrisjen would be setting fire to the Belt. And it's hard and painful. And I've kinda lost where I was going with this, but I love her and she's basically taking the weight of the world on her shoulders now, and without a trustworthy government on Mars and with no ally in the Belt anymore, perhaps the entire universe.
